Registering RFID, Fingerprints, and Faces

After creating employees and synchronizing them to your TimeMoto clock, you can register various methods of clocking per employee. In this article, we will explain how to register RFID cards / key fobs, fingerprints, and faces for your employees.

Registering RFID (All TimeMoto Clocks)

If you want to link an RFID card or key fob to an employee, proceed as follows: 

• Open the [Menu] on the time clock. 
• Select [User Management], and press [OK]. A list of all employees on the clock will appear.
• Select the employee for which you want to register the RFID card or key fob, and press [OK]. 
• Select [Edit] and press [OK].
• Select [Badge number] and press [OK].
• Hold the RFID card or key fob in front of the time clock. The RFID card or key fob will be registered to the employee.
• Press [ESC] multiple times to return to the main screen.

Registering an RFID Badge The RFID card or key fob is now registered for the employee. The employee can now use it to clock on the time clock.

Registering a fingerprint (TM-626 and TM-828)

Proceed as follows to register one or multiple fingerprints for an employee:

• Open the [Menu] on the time clock.
• Select [User Management], and press [OK]. A list of all employees on the clock will appear.
• Select the employee for which you want to register the fingerprint, and press [OK]. 
• Select [Edit] and press [OK].
• Select [Fingerprint] and press [OK]

You will now see a screen where you can select which finger you want to register. Use the arrow buttons on the TimeMoto clock to select the finger you want to register, and press [OK].

Select a Fingerprint to Register The employee will now have to put their finger three times on the clock’s fingerprint sensor. If the registration was successful, the time clock will confirm this on the screen. Press [ESC] multiple times to return to the main screen.

The employee can now use their fingerprint(s) to clock on the time clock. You can repeat this process if you want to register additional fingers. 

Registering a face (TM-838 only)

If you want to register an employee’s face, proceed as follows:

• Open the [Menu] on the time clock.
• Select [User Management], and press [OK]. A list of all employees on the clock will appear.
• Select the employee whose face you want to register, and press [OK]. 
• Select [Edit] and press [OK].
• Select [Face] and press [OK]

Have the employee stand in front of the time clock’s camera. Make sure the employee is positioned in such a way that their eyes are within the rectangle shown on the clock’s screen. Once the clock has successfully registered the face, a confirmation will appear on the screen. Press [ESC] multiple times to return to the main screen.

Registering a Face The employee’s face has now been registered, and they can use the TM-838’s facial recognition to identify themselves on the time clock.
